Bintan Nirwana resort

It's been quite sometime since the last post, and i am once again back to update my travelling status.

I finally stepped foot onto the sandy beach in bintan after hearing much news about how convenient and nice the place is for a short getaway.And, indeed it was!
The overall experience in bintan was great albeit a short one ( 2D1N).
I managed to experience quite a number of new activities which i had always been yearning for e.g. Air rifle and archery.I gave up on the former activity as it required too much of my energy for reloading the metal pellets!
As for archery, i do love to try it out more often in the future.

I also had a go on an OLD and rusty bike which was available there to tour around the small resort.And boy was it tiring with all my energy spent on overcoming the friction in the bike chain while trying to cycle over the steep hills! There were more than 1 steep hill...

Once again, i never fail to subject myself to such torture during holidays.And again, i was not able to enjoy the nice pool there due to my inconvenience=(
I hope the next time i go there, i will be able to enjoy the gigantic , nice pool overlooking the nice sandy beach and ppl playing beach volley balls.

As for photos, there are lots of it and is available at the facebook.

I shall update again after my next trip to lumut! Adieus!

macau april 2008

This is a short ,tiring but yet sweet trip.
5th April
=========
Arrived at Macau slightly past 2 pm and after checking in, walking tour designed by a great partner started at 330pm.
Tour was only focused on the Taipa island itself, since the hotel that we stayed in is in Taipa island.
Walking journey started with lots of hiccups and after 2 wrong turnings, we managed to reach the taipa village and started to shop for local delicacies for everyone.
After that we walked around the area for 1 hour before heading to the famous venetian macau resort.
The design is quite similar to the real venice except that everything is man-made with fake sky and bridges. Of course, the gondola is real with the rower displaying a resounding opera music.
I shopped at the espirit and walked around the casino area.
We grabbed dinner at the food court( it was so crowded there, just like in singapore food court).After walking tru the maze resort, we decided to hail a cab to head back to hotel and rest.

6th April
=========
Oops, did someone lose $200?
Well, someone was very unhappy....
Nonetheless, we started our journey by taking a cab to the peninsular.
The frist stop was A ma temple, from there, we started our walking trip again.
After A ma temple, we took our takeaway breakfast - portuguese egg tart ( Fresh but expensive, around $1.20 for one).
Then, we walked tru the moorish barracks( which we thought we did), Largo de liau and opps,got lost.

After asking for directions , we managed to reach the senate square where there are classic protuguese style buildings.
We also stepped into one of the cathedrals in macau,said our short prayers before continuing our journey.
Alas, it was noon and there was no cafe in sight....where are all the small eateries in macau???

After walking for 10 mins, we managed to find a cafe where none of them speak good mandarin or english. I tried the local mocha coffee there( really nice, just like the original coffee in italy).
There after, we headed to the ruins of St paul's where we took lots of photos.We dropped by the monte fortress(just next door) and were disappointed that macau museum is closed for renovation.

Since it was still early, ( around 2pm), we decided to go to fisherman wharf!!!!
We walked there.... amazing....( i also can't believe it).
Fisherman wharf was a disappointment as everything was closed. Is it not open on sunday? unlikely right? Maybe it is not officially open yet?

We decided to take the shuttle bus and head back to the hotel before taking a cab to Coloane for dinner=)
It was my birtday treat which was really special except that the waiting list was long but it was worth it.

7th april
=========
Decided to take macau breakfast at one of the nearby cafe and went to venetian macau again.
I got to do some last min shopping at a gemstone shop=D
Really nice!!!

Went to airport, bid goodbye to macau....FOUND the lost $200.Partner very happy=)
Flight got delayed, so i shopped again for food... all went into my stomach before i even boarded the plane.

Happy birthday to me!!
Had dinner at home with the opening of a great wine.
Thereafter, zzzzz.

~Tinge of hope~

I have been inspecting both my toe nails for the past few weeks.
It's been a pain seeing them,inspecting every periphery of it to ensure that if there is any new advances everyday.
After umpteenth days of disappointments,i finally saw a trace of new toe nail growing tru the delicate,raw skin.
I thought my eyes were making tricks, so i decided to take a closer look at it and voila,it is true!
My new toe nail is truly making it appearance into the world once again.
I promise i will take extra care of it ...
