Today's lab was cool except tt i didn't go to cleanroom instead i only went for the cryostat training.
It was a fun and dangerous procedure.We nearly stuffed the whole room wif nitrogen gas , however, of course, wif Dr Kunle around, we had to behave ourselves.We include, me,three RS scholars (namely, Yunsong,Goolaup and Debahish), and plus, the two trainers known as Shika and Chenchen.

The cooling of the cryostat to a temperature of 10K really was long and tedious .We thought we could make it work, at least Shika and Chenchen thought so.But somehow, sthg was frozen in the process coz, we forgot to check sthg.
The frozen thing was due to the nitrogen gas that we had to pump into the cryostat cylinder.
For those , who don't know wat is a cryostat, it is actually an equipment , where specimens can be placed and investigated for MR properties under low temperatures (below 300K) , usually is below 10K.

Nway, the nitrogen gas was flying all over the place, wif ppl like us around.Goolaup was speculating who will faint first , and since i was the nearest to the nitrogen gas spraying out, i was supposed to faint first.SIGHZ, talking bout being childish.

The cylinder was so COLD, as in realli ice cold after we pumped the nitrogen inside for about 15 mins.We could see ice forming around the cylinder .Since, our first attempt failed we had to redo it all over again.Dr kunle was abit mad as we had only about 2 nitrogen tanks left and both of it are needed for the cryostat to work.
(Dr kunle gave us some candies before this procedure, hoping it will work, but was quite pissed when he found out it didn't.So we were wondering if we should vomit out the candies and return to him........And, yeah, i told him about the idea of vomiting the candies to him, and he was laughing his head off*okies, at least, he wasstill kind enuff for not asking us to do so* )

Shika, was trying to explain the theory behind this procedure in between the procedure.All of us tried to be attentive, but somehow , our mind just strayed when we heard sounds coming out of the tanks.Just in case the Helium tank explode , so all of us were quite vigilant about tt. And, yeah, we are also using Helium which is the vital ingredient to cool down the temperature.

While Shika was explaining , i wanted to ask sthg, but she just said" NO dun ask first"... so , i got fed up and pretend to listen to wat she was saying.The guys were all alredi not happy wif her and were half day dreaming.So , when she finished explaining, she asked if we understood, i just frankly told her NO. haha, the guys all also said NO.

Too bad, she pissed me off.........she was so domineering tt the guys dun like her at all.... and she was REALLI fierce!!!
Explaining things wif a high tone....AIKS.....:S...i shall ask chenchen next time.He is much better.



So, one whole afternoon spent on this failed procedure.I was asked to give trainings on VSM by the RS as i am the only one who passed the test.SIGHZ, i told them i had no samples....just to give excuses...but all the RS said , they all have.

Ok , no escape for me next week.Hopefully, i won't teach them wrongly.But, Goolaup said they will treat me if they passed!! Quite a good incentive though.
