Swiss trip ( 9-10/04/05)

The trip to swiss started at around 430 am on Saturday. There were 3 cars (15 ppl) heading to swiss. Yeah, it was our first mass trip driving to a country outside of Italy (finally).
It took us around 1 hour plus to reach the swiss borderline. Thereafter, we headed to our first destination which was Zurich. We reached there around 10 am and it was a big disappointment for us as there were not much things to see as all of us didn’t want to visit any museum or chapels anymore. Yes, after visiting italy, which is full of chapels and museums, we had enough of it.
Anyway, for those who wants to visit the museums in Zurich – there are the Kunsthaus (art museum) and swiss national museum. The most important thing in Zurich is the clock tower which symbolizes Zurich itself. We visited the Bahnhohofstrasse Street, which is a famous shopping street that covers a distance of 1.4 km. It was raining heavily; hence we covered only a small distance. Of course there are lots of chapels here, like the st.peter’s which is zurich’s oldest church. This is the clock tower which I mentioned earlier. This is the largest church clock face in Europe.
One can visit the Zurich zoo and masoala rainforest here too.

After having lunch , we headed to our next destination – luzern.This is also the place where we are supposed to stay over.
In luzern , there were more things to visit. After we checked into our hostel, we headed to the chapel bridge which is the world- famous 660 year old bridge, which burnt down in 1993 but was reconstructed 6 months later, true to the original. There after, we shopping along the shopping alley and had our dinner.
We decided to visit the entire place in luzern after dinner so we can head to Interlaken on Sunday morning.
Our next stop was the lion of Lucerne- the dying lion of Lucerne, which basically is built to commemorate the bravery of the swiss guards who were sacrifice during the defeat of swiss grande.
It was quite a nice view- but it was late at night, hence, we couldn’t get a good shoot of it.
After that, we headed to the musegg wall- a part of the rampart built in 1386.Three towers are open to the public- however, we didn’t walk tru the towers as I mentioned earlier, it was raining heavily – and yes, snowing. We were too cold to even to move. But at least we drove up all the way and tried to take some pictures.
After this, we headed back to our hostel to rest.
There are actually 3 museums in luzern- Picasso museum, nature museum and swiss transport museum .There is also the glacier gardens which are a place not to be missed- this place is next to thee lion of Lucerne. We didn’t visit all these places caused of the reasons mentioned earlier and furthermore, it was late at night and everything was closed.

The next morning we headed to Interlaken- the lakes views are really nice and of course we get to see the snow- capped mountains.
We walked around the area and shopped again.Yes, I spent all of my 153 franc- left only 0.2 franc at the end of the trip. Things are not cheap in swiss basically.
We took pictures at the casino and there is a hooter bar here too.
Our last stop was at a lake in bernese obeerland-interlaken.
There are place which one can visit such as the mystery park which is a park for the miracles of the past, present and futures that is based on the ideas of Erich von daniken.We didn’t visit this place though. There is also the Japanese garden, st-beatus caves and heimwehfluh.
Yupz, that’s all for our trip. It was fun but a very cold trip.I have seen enough of snow and walked under the snow numerous time that I won’t miss snow.

Oh ya, while we were in Zurich, we chanced open the first opening day of macintosh shop. They served champagne, beer and all kinds of drinks.We went in and I ordered a sweet orange sthg kind of drink but it was blue in colour. It tasted really nice!
There are snacks for us and free pots of flowers for us.
I had 3 pots of flowers with me now. Now, my apartment looks much alive!
Ok, need to go sleep now, it is 1 am in the morning and I have to get up at 645 am tomorrow to work. Ciao!
