Wien/Vienna ( 10-12/6/05)

Yupz, i went to Vienna on last Friday night by sky Europe after a tedious flight- waiting for fren to apply for visa on the spot and taking an hour plus of shuttle bus to Vienna central station.
We only managed to reach the hostel at around 2 am in the morning.

After having breakfast, we started our exploration of the land since we only had one day in wien. So off we went to the Sigmund-freud park where there was a table with 10 chairs, which was just right for us as there were 10 of us. After taking a picture there, we went to the Votikelrich (spelling might be wrong). There after, we headed to the parliament, and lots of square ( platz). There, we met with ppl selling the orchestra tickets for the night itself and 4 of us bought the Mozart orchestra ticket at the price of 19 euro.

After that, we headed to hofburg- where there is the horse riding school, sisi museum, treasury museum- basically this place is concentrated with lots of different kinds of museums. Here we split where my group consisted of 4 ppl – I am the only gal.
We headed to natural history museum, the tomb of capuchin museum and stephanson- cathedral. After having our dinner at a Vienna restaurant, we went to the prater- where there is the ferry wheels to view the whole of Vienna. We didn’t went up , but instead, we played bumper car and this was when one of my friend’s camera popped out of his bag and yupz, it was gone for good.
The guys played go-kart before they sent me to the musikverein- where the concert was supposed to be held. So , at that place, I met up with the other 3 people to watch the concert which was really fantastic especially the blue Danube and symphony 40.

After that, I companied the 3 of them who had not went to the cathedral. We strolled along the streets which was really vibrant – as we can see, the nightlife here is really good as all the restaurants were still wide open at 11pm plus! One of my friends bought the famous nuts to test it out, hehe, yup, it was great.

Oh ya, forgot to tell u that before I watched the concert, we went to shop for souvenirs. They have really nice souvenirs – all has W.A Mozart signatures on it. I bought a blouse bearing the script and signatures on it.

The next day, 4 of us went to the Donau river, UNO city, and Donau park which was really great as there were lots and lots of beautiful flowers around! My friend plucked 2 roses for me- red and pink. Nice place for strolling around. We also reached A1 tower where one can go up to see the whole view of Vienna but hehe, everything is close in Vienna on Sunday.

There after, we headed to the central station – airport and back to bergamo , Milan.
This is a short account of my trip to Vienna. This is really a nice place to visit – but one must spend at least 2 days in Vienna.

Ciao!
